This is cool and laid back, I really like that scratchy drum sound in the beat too.

Bertn1991 responds:

Aw yeah-yuh!

Good work, especially for a beginner. I particularly liked what you had from about two minutes in til the end, I really liked all the little sounds you used, and the modulation too. Excellent stuff.

I noticed a few problems as well and have some advice. The hats on the first part sound a little weird, it kind of sounds like the sample was slowed too much in post processing. I also thought the sounds at the beginning could of used more body and oomph, you could try adding some compressors to achieve this (there's actually many other ways to this as well). Also I thought the breakdown from about 1:05 to 1:40 dragged on a bit. The song also ends abruptly and suddenly, you can try adding some silence to the end of your track and just let whatever is reverberating kind of fade out.

This is a great start, keep working hard, who knows what you might achieve some day.

Jarvission responds:

Thanks for the advice buddy! I will take it in mind and use it, I'm glad you left a comment and enjoyed it!

This seems a little different from last time, like some sounds have gotten louder. At times they can be overpowering. The drum crescendo from 1 minute 20 seconds to 1 minute 30 seconds gets too loud. Also, from about the 30 second mark to about the 1 minute 30 second mark the piano gets buried underneath other sounds. The piano is what grabs your attention in this song, it should stay the focal point of the song.

Try giving your sounds more stereo space. Look for a feature in your software that says "pan", this will let you move sounds left and right in the stereo field. By simply spreading out your sounds just a little bit you can give them better clarity.

Gergaloth responds:

Ah yeah I noticed that after I enveloped it, I really need to just fuckin' BUY FL studio so I can go back in and fix this little things to make such big differences.

That ending though, just for you

I thought it was great. You did some outstanding work with what sounds like ".mid" midi samples. My only gripe is that it just ends suddenly, it just cuts out.

Gergaloth responds:

I shall begin working on endings, I'm still experimenting heavily with lots of other things
However... I have an idea, I might be able to fix that ending right now.

Twas most epic, good sir.

Bertn1991 responds:

Thank you kindly, stranger.

Upbeat songs made sad by classical guitar, well, it's a very interesting concept indeed :D

Also, I would like to request "Tripping Billies" by Dave Matthews Band for a sad cover.

Ceevro responds:

Hehe! Thanks, I'll check into it and see if I can make it work!

Not bad, the sound quality is good, and the sound effects were a nice touch. But the track doesn't really stand out either, it's pretty standard. Perhaps you should try to experiment with it some.

Felocai responds:

Yeah I wasn't doing it on my computer and I didn't have many plugins etc.
I'm sure I'll remake it soon.
Thanks for reviewing.

Very well done, this song is awesome. Reminds of Super Meat Boy for some reason.

LunyAlex responds:

Thank you! I like that stylistic comparison , hah.

It shows that you've put a lot of effort into this song. It's very good overall, put there are some serious problems you need to address. One problem is the faster parts sounded spastic. What I do with speedy notes (I sequence all my stuff too btw) is start the first note fortissimo then going pianissimo with the next and build my way back up to fortissimo and then back down and back up and continue like that. If done correctly it will give your speed ups more of a natural feel.

Blacklawn responds:

I'll see what I can do about these things you mentioned, thanks.

I liked it, it had a nice flow, it wasn't repetitive, and has good production quality. I liked the oriental melody on the bell synth, the synths were good, the drums were great.

Celorux responds:

Many thanks (from Qvarcos too)! We'll have more similiar releases soon.
